Bumblejax.com Aluminum Photo Review

Our walls are full of art, and a lot of it is stuff we have made ourselves. Well, with the exception of the $10 Lichtenstein wannabe print I bought at IKEA. I still don’t know what I was thinking with that one, but I love it. I love seeing Josh’s paintings all over our walls too, but I have grown pretty tired of seeing my old print inventory hanging up in whatever frames I have lying around. I was pretty excited when Bumblejax contacted me asking if I’d like to receive one of my prints on bamboo or aluminum and review it on my blog.
These are options I have considered offering in my shop, so I figured it would be a great opportunity to test out their product quality and see if it would be a good fit.
I know canvas gallery wraps are really popular, but there is something about this print on aluminum that I really, really love. It is very sturdy and durable and provides a smooth, sharp satin finish. It’s much more sleek than anything else I have hanging on my walls and looks great with the industrial style of my loft. I love how it looks on the brick wall above, but that nail was already occupied by a much larger print and this wall in the entryway seemed like it needed a little love, so there it went.

The photo below is the back of the print and hanging hardware. It also comes with a hook you can stick into the wall for easy hanging. No tools necessary!

It’s really easy to upload the photo of your choice right on their site – you can even upload photos right from Instagram – and from there it will let you know which sizes will work best. Aluminum isn’t the only option available; they also have photos on bamboo, gatorfoam, and acrylic, and if you just want the print, that’s cool too. They also do custom sizes if you already have something specific in mind.
Overall, my experience with Bumblejax was wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a different way to display photos. Interested in buying some of your own? Make a purchase between now and February 14th and get 12% off with the code mandy12off. If you don’t have any photos of your own you’d like to have printed, they recently launched an art gallery at artprintstopia.com with work from all around the world. I personally love this painting and this photo, and it helps that they point out you won’t be finding any Thomas Kinkade in their selection. Sold!

FTC: I received the aluminum print in exchange for my honest review of the product. All opinions are my own.

Sadly I almost never make prints anymore… I think because all our wall space is already occupied. But I imagine that when we have a house, we’ll want to hang up some photos and/or put them on shelves and things around the house. This post is good to know for future reference; I had no idea people were printing on aluminum (looks great!) or bamboo. What the heck is gatorfoam?
